Phoenix police investigating child abduction
PHOENIX - Phoenix police are investigating a possible child abduction. Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Andy Hill said the child is a 5-year-old girl. She was taken from an apartment complex in the 12.000 block of North 19th Avenue in Phoenix.

The victim is identified as Natalie Rose Flores. She is four feet tall and weighs about 60 pounds with red shoulder length hair and freckles.

She was last seen wearing a pink top with blue stretch pants and pink and white tennis shoes.

Hill said the suspect is a white male, between 30 and 40 years of age. He's 5'8 to 5'9 and weighs 180 to 190 pounds.

He was seen wearing a gray shirt, peach colored knee length shorts and was carrying a camera.

Police think he was taking pictures of children in the apartment complex.

Witnesses said he left southbound driving a brown Ford pickup with an Arizona license AZ/3HG774.

Kidnapped girl rescued after West Valley pursuit

Hill said a Phoenix patrol officer spotted the suspect vehicle and, after a pursuit, the suspect was caught at 2140 West Thunderbird.

Natalie was rescued from that vehicle and is alive and well.

Suspect ID'd in abduction, molestation of 5-year-old girl

Police said the suspect is a 45-year-old man, but they haven't released his name and or any other details.

Hill said the man was being questioned by police and held on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault on a police officer and felony pursuit.

Ladwig was booked into jail on charges of kidnapping, sexual molestation of a child, aggravated assault of a police officer and felony flight. It's unclear whether Ladwig has a lawyer, and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office did not immediately respond to a request to interview him.

Man who kidnapped 5-year-old girl in Phoenix on Christmas Day gets 30-year prison sentence

A man who pleaded guilty to kidnapping and molesting a young girl in Phoenix last Christmas Day has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 46-year-old Larry Jon Ladwig was sentenced Friday to prison without the possibility of parole plus two lifetime probation terms.

They say Ladwig pleaded guilty June 15 to kidnapping, sexual conduct with a minor, attempted child molestation, attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and aggravated assault.

Authorities say Ladwig snatched the girl from in front of her aunt's north Phoenix apartment. The child was playing with her sisters and was climbing a tree when Ladwig grabbed her and threw her into his truck.

Ladwig was later captured by police and the girl was rescued after a high-speed chase.
