The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department is asking for assistance in locating a female that has been missing since April 14.
Janet L. Walters, 44, was last seen Thursday morning and reported missing by her husband Gary that afternoon and has not been heard from since.
Walters’ husband advised authorities that Janet has been sick with a brain illness for many years and as a result is partially crippled, unable to walk without a crutch, and wears a neck brace. She was given a dire prognosis from a doctor just two days prior to going missing and reportedly made suicidal comments.
Police say Janet left her residence with all of her medications in a 2004 dark green Toyota Sienna van bearing the license plate No. GZ7587.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department at 745-9354.
Janet has had a brain illness for several years and was given a dire prognosis from a doctor just two days prior to going missing. Her neurosurgeon gave devastating news
that replacing Janet's failing shunt could be impossible. Without a shunt, she faces unbearable headaches, constant vomiting and eventual blindness.
She even reportedly made suicidal comments, according to the police report. Janet, a nurse, while on a mission trip, got an infection in her brain that led to her rare neurological condition.
She was last seen leaving her Danville home in a 2004 dark green Toyota Sienna van with an "In God We Trust" license plate, No. GZ7587.
She is unable to walk without a crutch and wears a neck brace. She is Caucasian, 5 feet 1 inches tall, 110 pounds with long black hair graying on top.
Her family loves her and is extremely worried. Please help.
Anyone with information should call the Hendricks County Sheriff's Department, (317) 745-9354, your local police, or 9-1-1.
