The reporting party told the county Sheriff's Office that the child, Ramy Amadea Gallego, was last seen about 10 p.m. Saturday when she went to sleep in a bassinet at a residence on the 1500 block of Tule Lane.
About 6 a.m. Sunday, the mother checked on the baby and found her missing, the Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies responded and searched the home and the surrounding area. A helicopter and dogs were used, and authorities also sent a telephone notification to nearby residents.
The girl weighs 14 pounds, has dark hair and blue eyes, and was wearing a one-piece, zip-up outfit with pink, green and blue pastel colors.

Infant still missing from Knightsen

KNIGHTSEN -- A 4-month-old girl was reported missing from her home here early Sunday morning, sparking a major search throughout the neighborhood and beyond.
The mother of Ramy Amadea Gallego said she put her daughter to bed about 10 p.m. Saturday but when she checked on her around 6 a.m. the infant had disappeared from her bassinet, according to Jimmy Lee, a spokesman for the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.
The child was reported missing around 6:20 a.m., Lee said.
Asked why the parents waited 20 minutes to report the baby missing, sheriff's Capt. Steve Warne said only that officials are looking into that aspect of the case.
He said authorities are treating the parents as witnesses and not yet calling the baby's disappearance a kidnapping.
"There's no reason to suspect foul play by anybody," Warne said.
He declined to specify whether a home alarm system was activated when the child vanished, nor whether she was in a room by herself.
Authorities had cordoned off the entrance to Tule Lane, where authorities could be seen coming and going from the family's beige, single-story home.
About 100 law enforcement officials and volunteers scoured the area on foot and all-terrain vehicles along with search dogs but hadn't found the baby by early evening.
Small groups of search-and-rescue volunteers in khaki uniforms trudged along Knightsen Avenue and Delta Road; others combed the stubble of a nearby field near the command center that has been established at Knightsen School.
Here and there, curious onlookers gathered to watch the flurry of activity, an anomaly in this quiet little Delta town where horses graze in backyards and homemade signs advertise freshly picked strawberries.
Ramy is described as white with dark hair and blue eyes, and weighing about 14 pounds.
She was wearing a one-piece zippered outfit in pastel pink, green and blue, Warne said.
The sheriff's office is working with state and federal authorities and has contacted the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Warne said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (925) 646-2441.

Search Continues For Missing CoCo Infant

KNIGHTSEN, Calif. -- The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff kicked off a massive search Sunday morning for a four-month-old girl, who reportedly disappeared from her home in the town of Knightsen.
Ramy Amadea Gallego was reported missing to the Sheriff's office at about 6:20 a.m. Sunday. She was last seen at about 10 p.m. the previous night, when the baby went to sleep at her home on the 1500 block of Tule Lane, deputies said. When Gallego's mother went to check on her at about 6 a.m. the following morning, the infant was not in her bassinet.
Sheriffs deputies responded and conducted a search of the residence and surrounding area. The office also informed neighboring residences via telephone.
Sunday morning, friends and family said they believe someone came into her parents home and abducted the baby. One family friend said the back door of the home was open.
Investigators would not confirm the information about the door being open.
Police are treating the incident as a missing person case, but officers also said the incident was suspicious.
“We don't have an indication that there was a family dispute or abduction at all,” said Contra Costa sheriff Cpt. Steve Warne. “The thing that is suspicious is that the child doesn't have the ability to disappear on her own.”
Investigators said they aren’t sure why it took 20 minutes for the family to report the child missing.
Deputies took little Ramy's parents into custody for questioning.
Although currently they're not considered to be suspects.
Gallego was described as having dark hair and blue eyes, and weighing 14 pounds. She was last seen wearing a one-piece zip-up that had pink, green and blue pastel colors.
Anyone with information on the missing baby was asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (925) 646-2441.
