‘Cobra’ still searching for Haleigh CummingsJuly 10, 2:34 PM
Haleigh Cummings has been missing for five months and both the search for her and the media interest in the case have waned.
Misty Cummings (formerly Croslin) was at home with the little girl and her brother the night she went missing. Haleigh’s father, Ronald Cummings, was at work when his 17-year-old girlfriend, now wife, claims she awoke to find Haleigh gone.
Misty has told conflicting stories since that dark Monday night when the 5-year-old vanished.
According to initial reports, Croslin told investigators that she was sleeping in the same bed as Haleigh and her younger brother. However, Croslin later told the media she was sleeping in another room and when she got up to use the bathroom, she discovered Haleigh was gone.
William Staubs, a Fort Lauderdale bounty hunter, also known as “Cobra,” has made the search for Haleigh his mission. He told the New Times, “You got to be crazy to do this shit. I just pray that she’s still alive.”
Cobra is a father of five and began his search for Haleigh upon the prompting of Richard Grund, whose son, Jesse, was once engaged to Casey Anthony. Casey is charged with the first-degree murder of her 2-year-old daughter. Caylee was missing for several months before her remains were found on Dec. 11.
Cobra is convinced that a member of Haleigh’s immediate family had something to do with her disappearance. In a radio interview conducted in Mar., Cobra reveals his belief that Misty was not at home when Haleigh went missing and she was having an affair with another man around the time she married Haleigh’s father, just weeks after the little girl disappeared.
