Amanda Gretchen Wambar,7, was taken Sunday evening by her mother after social services removed the child from the mother's home because of drug abuse.

Amanda was last seen at her aunt's house in the 6800 block of Penrod. She is described as an African-American female, 7 years old with brown eyes and brown hair.

Investigators say the child is believed to be in extreme danger. Amanda's mother, Laquanda Monique Barnes-Wambar, is 39-years-old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. She is believed to be traveling in a purple cab.

Amber Alert Cancelled, Missing Detroit Girl Found


Detroit (WWJ) -- A seven-year old Detroit girl, the focus of an Amber Alert since Monday morning, has been found.

Detroit police say Amanda Wambar was found with her parents on Cheyenne, near Schaefer and Fenkell, on the city's west side Tuesday morning.

The girl's parents were taken into custody. An Amber Alert posted Monday said Amanda Wambar was abducted from her aunt's home in West Bloomfield Township.

Police will forward a report to the Wayne County Prosecutor's office which will determine if any criminal charges will be filed.
